Printed TV Covers
Hide your TV behind custom artwork when not in use
OrangePiel TV cover shades conceal flat-screen televisions behind custom imagery when the screen is off and retract out of frame when you watch. Every cover is printed at up to 1440 DPI in dye-sublimation on the same PVC-free fabric used for the commercial roller shades, with magnetic or hook-and-loop mounting sized to the specific TV model. Motorization, cordless spring-assist, and manual chain drive are available. Production runs 2-4 weeks; every unit ships free and is made at the Richmond, Virginia facility.

Custom printed roller shades designed to conceal televisions when not in use. Turn your TV into art with motorized or manual operation.
Custom printed TV covers transform your television into artwork when not in use. Instead of looking at a black rectangle on your wall, display a stunning photograph, painting reproduction, or custom design that complements your interior décor. With the push of a button or pull of a chain, the shade rolls up to reveal your TV for viewing.
TV cover shades are engineered specifically for this application, with precise sizing to fully conceal your television while maintaining the clean lines and minimal appearance expected in today's living spaces. We offer mounting options to suit any installation: ceiling mount for the cleanest look, wall mount for easy installation, or recessed pocket for a seamless built-in appearance.
Motorized operation is the most popular choice for TV covers, allowing convenient control from the same remote or smart home system you use for your TV. Battery-powered motors require no wiring, while hardwired options provide continuous power for frequent use. Voice control through Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, or Apple HomeKit makes operation effortless.
Every TV cover shade is manufactured to order at our US facility, custom-sized for your specific television and mounting situation. We provide guidance on measuring, mounting options, and hardware selection to ensure your shade works perfectly with your setup.

Why Use a TV Cover Shade?
Modern living rooms increasingly feature large televisions as focal points. But when the TV is off, that large black rectangle can dominate the room in ways that detract from your carefully designed interior. A custom printed TV cover shade solves this problem elegantly.
With a TV cover, your television transforms into a work of art when not in use. Display a serene landscape that brings calm to your space, a piece of fine art that reflects your taste, or a custom photograph that holds personal meaning. When it's time to watch, the shade rolls up silently and disappears.
TV covers are particularly popular for living rooms and bedrooms where the TV shares space with carefully curated décor. They're also widely used in hospitality—hotels and resorts display custom artwork in guest rooms that enhances the space when the TV isn't in use.

How do I measure my TV for a custom printed cover?
Measure the overall screen dimensions (width × height) of the TV itself, then add 2-3 inches to each side for the cover to mount cleanly around the bezel and mounting bracket. For a 65" TV (roughly 57" × 32"), order a cover around 60" × 36". If your TV is wall-mounted with a tilting bracket, add another 1-2 inches on the top for clearance when the TV is pulled forward. Soundbars mounted below the TV should be either covered together (measure combined dimensions) or left exposed (measure TV only).
Most customers order TV covers slightly oversized to ensure full bezel coverage and to forgive small measurement differences. Our online studio lets you enter your TV model number and auto-fills dimensions for most major brands.
Can printed TV covers be installed over mounted soundbars, Apple TV, or cable boxes?
Yes, with a few planning notes. Soundbars mounted directly below the TV are often covered by extending the cover height; the printed graphic conceals both the TV and the soundbar as a single wall-art piece. Apple TV boxes, Rokus, and cable boxes mounted behind the TV are naturally hidden and unaffected. If your TV needs line-of-sight to an IR remote, use the optional IR-passthrough fabric; it's visually identical to standard fabric but lets infrared signals through.
For TVs with motorized mounts that tilt or swivel, add 2-3" of extra clearance around each edge so the cover doesn't bind on the mounting hardware during movement.
What's the difference between a printed TV cover and printed wall art?
A printed TV cover attaches with magnets or Velcro to hide the TV screen when it's not in use, appearing as custom wall art until you lift or remove it to watch. Standard wall art is permanently mounted and visible all the time. The cover approach gives you a larger art display when the TV is off without sacrificing the TV's functionality — one product serves both purposes. Both can be printed at similar resolution on similar fabrics.
Covers are the right choice when you want to conceal the TV as a design element in living rooms, bedrooms, or hospitality spaces. If the TV will be on most of the time, printed wall art elsewhere on the wall is a better fit.
How long do printed TV covers last, and how do I clean them?
Our TV covers are printed with UV-stable or dye-sublimated inks rated for 10+ years of normal use — the colors will not fade, crack, or peel on the timescale of typical TV ownership. The fabric itself is treated for stain resistance. For routine cleaning, vacuum with a brush attachment or wipe gently with a dry microfiber cloth. For spots, blot (don't rub) with a barely-damp cloth and mild soap.
Avoid harsh chemicals, bleach, or steam cleaners, which can affect the print. Covers are machine-washable on gentle only if the specific fabric option you chose is listed as washable — check the product spec page or your order confirmation.
Understanding TV Cover Sizing and Installation
Proper sizing is crucial for a TV cover that fully conceals your television while maintaining proportions that look balanced on your wall. When measuring for your TV cover shade, start with the actual television dimensions including the frame or bezel. Most modern TVs have thin bezels, but some models have thicker frames that add to the overall dimensions.
We recommend adding 2-3 inches on each side of the television (4-6 inches total width) to ensure complete coverage without any visible edges. For height, measure from your desired mounting point above the TV to several inches below the bottom of the screen. This extra coverage ensures the TV is completely hidden and accounts for any slight rolling variations.
Consider where you want the shade to stop when lowered. Some installations extend to the floor for a dramatic floor-to-ceiling art piece effect. Others stop at the mantel level for TVs mounted above fireplaces. Still others stop just below the TV for a more subtle presence. Your choice affects both the visual impact and the mounting requirements.
For ceiling mounting, verify you have solid material (joists or blocking) at your planned mounting location. Drywall alone cannot support the weight of a motorized shade—proper anchoring into solid framing is essential. If mounting into a ceiling with recessed lighting or HVAC vents nearby, ensure there is adequate clearance for the rolled-up shade.
