"Rarely can an idea pass though one's mind only later to see it realized perfectly in real time."
- Stanlee Gatti, Event Planner Extraordinaire
"OrangePiel took the seed of an idea and through dedication, vision and persistence made it come to life, exceeding our expectations of the original concept. At every step they were open to ideas and discussion and delivered on both the small details and large concepts we requested. Time, deadlines and budget were all delivered as expected. They were partners and collaborators throughout the process. To our delight, the end product they created stole the show at our event and carried the ambiance and tone of the evening."
-Brooke Golden, Executive Producer, LunaFest
"In television production, its crucial to work with a vendor that can deliver in a time crunch. OrangePiel went above and beyond to accommodate our needs, working within our budget and time specifications. Not only was the final product exactly what we envisioned, it was also delivered early! I will absolutely work with OrangePiel again, and highly recommend their product and service to anyone."
-Jen O'Connor, Associate Producer, MTV's "Rob and Big"
"Our host and designer, Candice, had a vision for a bathroom we were working on for the show. OrangePiel was great helping us get the exact color of the image, size and help explain the installation process. We were able to shoot Candice and her team installing the graphic on the ceiling and the homeowner was blown away! We have a mandate to show cool and unusual products on our show and OrangePiel helped us achieve just that for this bathroom."
-Steven Southgate, Design Supervisor, Divine Design with Candice Olson HGTV
I'm writing you this note with absolute tears of joy... I'm not joking! Youdelivered this project, not only FAST, but complete, as specified and absolutely flawless!! Your work is amazing and words can't express, how I feel... the client is just going to be "blown away!"
In over 30 years of art consulting, I have never felt this kind of "pure" excitement on an installation.
"I love!!! Them!!!! Omg!! Thank you so much. I can't wait to show them to my boss"
-Happy Customer from Texas
Many people are interested in the origin of our name, "OrangePiel". The name was born during breakfast one morning on a trip around the US.
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. While eating an orange I realized that, generally, there are two ways to eat an orange, cut it or peel it. If you cut the orange, by imposing you own conventions upon it, it will "bleed,"" dry up, and become inedible at a later time. If you peel the orange, working with its natural systems, the peel separates without harming the fruit and the orange can be eaten or saved. What does this have to do with creating atmosphere? Well, for OrangePiel we like to work with you. The goal is not to dictate your space, but to work with you and what you have to create something beautiful. Our products and services are perfect for efficiently (re)inventing an atmosphere without using resource heavy materials and creating headaches and waste. In a world where every product on the market has magically become "green" once there was demand, OrangePiel would like to be honest with its customers.
Here's the deal. Our material is a PVC-free textile. The base of our non-organic materials is polyester, which is obviously a petroleum product (polyester makes up only 1-2% of the world's use of petroleum). The untrained eye would obviously deem this as not environmentally conscious, and there is a little bit of truth to this, but let's back up and take a look at the broader "environmental footprint" picture. The material is manufactured in Europe and the US. The people who work the machine have competitive salaries, benefits, and very good working conditions.
The byproducts of the manufacturing process are little more than steam. The logistics of getting the material to the US or around the US are environmentally favorable due to the reduced weight per volume of using a textile as compared with many other traditionally used construction products. We use a UV-cured printing process that yields no VOCs. The inks are on the cutting edge of environmental standards. Since we dictate the size of the installation beforehand, there is minimal waste on site, and we are beginning a recycling program for any material that remains unused (bags, totes, etc..). The product does not yield dust and VOCs, like painting, and there is no super-heating of a room (unlike most membrane systems).
So, is the material made from hemp farmed on a commune with no water, no bleaching, and recycled rakes?...no.... but, we are looking at how our business fits into the broader picture of sustainability. Unfortunately, many people are simply trying to make a buck from slapping "green" on their products. That is not our goal. As a young business with conscious employees who will have to deal with the outcomes caused by many generations of incompetence and ignorance, we strive to account for our entire "footprint". There are no perfect solutions to the environmental concerns right now, but be confident that we are considering how are business fits into the larger scope.
Our job is to make your inspirations and ideas come to life.
Create Your World... Sustainably.
